"When you simply need to say something in writing, then what you write upon should make your words look special too"

Thank you for a love story...

Thank you for a love story...

There is nothing like a love story told in letters...
 correspondance in literature

Having received this delightful gift, the amazing books about Griffin & Sabine by Nick Bantock and their unusual love story told over an impressive collection of books, I had to write a thank you note.

Not only did I get totally engrossed in these beautifully illustrated books, but the story was magical as well.

Whilst on this track I started to remember there was a whole collection of stories told using correspondence - I believe the technical term is epistolary novels.

Do you remember 84 Charing Cross Road by Helen Hanff? With the magic film made in 1987.

Also the brilliant Sue Townsend's Adrian Mole collection. Was this series a love story? Well Adrian's fascination of Pandora ran through much of the series.

I have also remembered a whole host of epistolary books for children, one was about a post man, and another about a globe trotting aunt - I will have to search these out for another day!!!
